Racists, Like
Criminals, Come In All Colors
The only thing missing from the cast of characters at
the Black Pioneer Renaissance Organization meeting called (see
Nexus 2/26.2008) to discuss the “facts” in the Frimpong rape case was
Reverend Al. Come on guys, if you
are going to race-bait, at least call in the Pro from Dover.
Oh yeah, one other thing: Perhaps
it would be best to have someone present the “facts” who actually had the
facts— say, someone who had actually attended the trial.
While one could argue that the meeting itself was a new low
for both the African-American community and UCSB, I am sure that with a little
more effort, new lows can be reached.
According to the Nexus report, the event organizer,
Chris Martin, said at the conclusion of the meeting that “the only positive
solution to the current set of circumstances was a retrial of Frimpong.
Victory in my opinion is that justice is served,” Martin said. “If
they prove beyond reasonable doubt that he is guilty, then he should be put
beyond bars. Otherwise, he deserves his freedom.”
Martin, wake up and smell the bars.
Frimpong already had a trial—the jury found him “guilty beyond a
reasonable doubt.” There is a
pending motion for a retrial, and Frimpong will have an appeal.
While Martin put out a bunch of clap-trap about just wanting to give
students some “accurate information,” it
was clear that the agenda of the meeting was to trash the victims, the police,
the courts, the DA, the jurors, and to rabble-rouse for a new trial for Frimpong.
In the mind of the BPRO, the victims, the cops, the DA, the judge, the
jury, the jailers, and the medical experts are all racists and liars—nice,
real nice.
Why is it that groups like the BPRO can never find a black
person who actually committed a crime? Why
is that these groups can never standup and demand justice for anyone who is the
victim of a black criminal? Perhaps
if once, just once, they condemned a black person who committed a crime they
would have some credibility.
I guess that young Master Martin would just like to keep
getting new trials for the rapist Frimpong until they can find one juror that
they can intimidate into voting not guilty so that they can get a hung jury.
The UCSB community should be outraged at the treatment of rape victims.
Instead, UCSB ostracizes rape victims and support rapists—truly, a
disgusting culture.
The one bright spot of the evening was Carol Mosely,
director of the Rape Prevention Education Program at UCSB, when she said she was
present at the meeting to speak on behalf of rape victims too intimidated to
represent themselves. Ms. Mosely
said, “The survivors in this case are having a difficult time on this campus
and they are not feeling supported or believed,” Mosely said. “Survivors
also don’t tell because they feel they will be blamed.”
Thank you, Ms. Mosely, for being an ever so small breathe
of fresh air in the putrid cesspool of the formerly great university known as
UCSB. However, I strongly advise
you to hire an attorney who specializes in wrongful termination.
If you keep speaking out, UCSB will get rid of you.
